So I have a tick in my top end. It sounds like lifter/pushrod noise. I have Jims hydros in the stock tappet blocks. Andrews pushrods. I had the bushings done and the rockers toleranced. The valves, springs, and guides are new (black diamond). It idles quiet when I start it cold, but as soon as I take off up the street, it clatters like its got a bent rod or a hung valve. When it idles down, it quiets down. After a mile or two it gets better and only taps at higher RPMs. After 3-4 miles it stops tapping altogether and runs quiet all day. Now I know it can take some time to pump up the hydros, but this is some loud clatter. I tried adding a 1/2 turn to the pushrods and nothing changed. I thought it might be preignition so I timed it back a bit and it just got hard to start (I kick it, too lazy to fix the elec). Im running 110 octane CAM-2 fuel. If it matters, its a Dyna S iggy and 5ohm dual fire coil. Keith Black pistons, Andrews B cam. Im thinking it might be a sticky lifter.
