So I have been debating seeing American Sniper and I cant decide where to end up on it. I hear Clint Eastwood made the movie with a bit more moral ambiguity than those rushing to praise/condemn it give him credit for, but I still hesitate to support something that might give any more credence to the ideas of Chris Kyle and those who blindly deify him. He lied about a lot of things and espoused some pretty terrible and dangerous ideals all under the guise of being a freedom fighting American hero. If this were just a fictional movie, not based on a real figure, I would have no problem watching it and then forming an opinion afterwards. Knowing what I do, though, its hard to support it even with my measly $13 for a movie ticket. Maybe Ill just have to watch it bootleg on the internet (yeah, thanks North Korea!). Anybody else have any thoughts on this movie?
