So I have mixed feelings about Scotland voting to stay in the UK. On the one hand, not only as a fan of Scottish folk music or as a person nof Scottish heritage, I would love for the Highlands to be free of English meddling. On the other hand, an independent Scotland today would be a very different creature than an independent Scotland back three centuries. I greatly fear the dismal failure that independence might have wrought for a country which had become so dependent upon their big brother England... and fear they might have joined the EU.... yikes!
