So... I have thought about this a great deal and, obviously, cant sleep, lol, but am moving ahead with a Celebration of Bailey (inarticulate and dramatic I know) on November 10 at 12 noon on Castle Island. Its not about attendance and certainly not the ceremony, but I have prayed on it, talked with close friends, and yes, talked with Bailey, and I just want to honor his amazing life which was cut short far too early. But in his short time with us, he touched so many, was a friend to so many and such a fixture at Castle Island. I have already had a private Rite of Committal with Final Commendation at his beloved point at Fort Independence. But I would like to invite any and all to join me on November 10 for simple remembrances, laughs, jokes and reflections. One dear friend has composed a poem which he will read, another has written a song which will debut that day. Im also taking donations for the Bailey Fund to benefit the Pilgrim Dog Bark. But this is not an event and certainly not a fundraiser. It might just be me talking with B as I did today and as I have done the last 10 days for guidance and wisdom and that would be just fine. But its also a thank you from him to all who have been AMAZING in the outpouring of love for him and support for his grieving best friend. I hope some of you can make it and come with your dogs and friends and Bailey stories. And if not, incredible thanks to all you gave him, and have given me in the last 10 days. Believe it or not, I do recognize he was a dog! But I have never been so devastated and dont know what I am going to do. By the grace of God, I am intact and doing the next right thing, but I am lost without him. I cannot thank you all enough for all you did for Bailey and all you have done for me.
