So I have waited a week before saying this but here goes... Has anyone else noticed the complete lack of media coverage of minor parties and independent candiates in the Queensland Media. No wonder we are stuck with a duopoly. It should be mentioned that this is the problem with a party based democracies. Voters end up with a false sense of ease when voting because they dont (or unable) to connect a parties policies to their personal beliefs. Apathetic voting results in people voting for parties rather than candidates. Which is dangerous! Appathy and poor collective memory is the result. Seriously have a look at your independent candidates. Major parties often colour these candidates to be of limited value until after the election when they clamor for there support. Democracy is great! Be Democratic not Apathetic.
