So, I havent posted about our adoption in oh, so long. I couldnt bring myself to do it really--- no other reason. Ive had so any emotions swirling in my heart and coursing through my entire being that I just couldnt make sense of them all. Think about it, here we are- still waiting 2 years and 4 months after we accepted our sons referral- and we are still 6,646 miles apart. Since that time, hes celebrated 3 birthdays without us, been through a bout of h-pylori (not as treatable there as here), struggled through a case of malaria, and slept with our letters until theyve become nothing more than tattered papers. Sure, I get photos- 2 videos even!!- but what I notice each time is a taller, more mature face, with expressions that tell me so much about what hes experienced in his short 9 years... More than any human should have to endure, let alone a child. So, processing all those emotions has been crazy. Through it all, though, God has been with me- helping me to understand just what it means to be His child, forever, no matter what, set from the foundation, loved beyond compare before I was legally His, and undeniably, unashamedly adopted. He allows me to call Him, Creator of the Cosmos, Daddy- a term of endearment that resounds with trust, provision, belonging, closeness, and reserved only for those that are His children. and because of that, my emotions are becoming more and more clear, my love for a son Ive never yet held in my arms have transcended fierceness, and now I feel equipped and ready to share about our adoption. That being said, look for another update soon with logistics as to where we are, whats been going on, and please continue to pray specifically for his homecoming to be swift, sure, and secure in attachment. Our son, Anderson-Joel Liam Galyean (pretty great name, huh?!), has such a beautiful community of family and friends awaiting him that only God could have orchestrated it. ❤️
