So I hear Brian Adams song summer of 69, & Im reminded (every time) of an old friend, who in junior high, made me listen to his album. Over. & Over. She was a fellow Larimore Lion, that gave me a matching Best Friends Forever heart charm/necklace in 3rd grade. We were fast friends for many years. Recess. Sleep overs. Trick or treating. Soccer games. Family dinners. Bff stuff. She even went with my family on vacation. She was a great friend. Pretty. Funny. Intelligent. A stealthy, swift, soccer player. A girl youd love to trade places with. A girl who you knew was dealt a great hand & would play it even greater. I loved her like a sister. Her mom was just as amazing & her dad made a mean batch of chili!! Then comes high school. It either makes or breaks you. Of course I made poor decisions & she was smart & opted for a better click. Of course. We havent talked since. The friendship didnt end with any unkind words or anything harsh. Communication just ceased. It was unfortunate, but probably on my end only. Who knows. I do know, that through this fantastical facebook, that she is doing just as I always expected. But as I have these great memories (maybe not so much about the Brian Adams on repeat bit) I still smile at the thought of our childhood & pretend she does the same. LYLAS Danielle
