So I just finished Gone Girl staring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. WHAT THE SERIOUS F*CK!???... and thats the middle of this movie. Now those who follow this know I have a rule about comedies that to disclose information about the flick is like giving away the punchline before the joke is told. This movie is not funny. It has comedic actors who can be funny at moments but none of this film is funny. But because of the nature of it, I feel those who watch this with no idea of whats coming should find this well. Affleck plays Nick Dunne, a lack luster husband whos wife just went missing. Amy Dunne, played by Pike has vanished from her home with signs of a struggle... And thats enough to get started. Seriously, this film reminds me of why I love movies. No effects, no explosions, just a story. That and Ben looks so ready to play Batman, hes as big as a side of beef with just a peek of salami downstairs. Now to Barnes and Noble to buy the book.
