So, I just got a phone call from a women with a Chinese accent, claiming she was calling from the Federal Government Grant Department, physical address of 200 Independence Ave. Washington D.C.2021 to provide me with a $9,000 grant. I was supposedly one of 15 selected in the nation due to my loyalty to the government, that I pay and file my taxes on time, and have no criminal record in the last 6 months. All you have to do, she says, is provide me with your banking account number and expiration date on the back of your card and you can receive your money in less than 45 minutes! She said it could be a card with a 0 or negative account balance. I spoke to another gentlemen, because she was difficult to understand and racing in speech and I told him I thought it was a scam. He said we would not ask you for a card number with a 0 or negative balance and we are not authorized to charge your account even a penny. Funny, I called my banker and she said, uh uh, hang up the phone thats the third call today about the same thing, you are right its a scam crazy that of 15 people nationwide 3 of those selected were here in the little town of South Hill, or at least people in this county that bank with the same bank I do! My banker even had a phone number from the last customer that called to report the same thing, it was very similar to the one that called me, a 202 number that comes up as a DC contact on caller ID. Watch out people! .....still lmbo, loyalty to the government, really?! lol
