So I just got back from the Noah movie - and I liked it. Was it a great movie, no, but it was clearly a blockbuster. Ok, so I have to comment on this movie since it seems every Christian and non-Christian has an opinion. Evidently there are many arguments going on around FB and the internet about Liberal Christians applauding this movie and the conversations coming from it, and Baptist and Pentecostal Christians (not sure why these two groups seem to represent conservative Christians) saying the movie bashes and ridicules the Bible and Christianity. I have two basic comments: first, I am not sure where this movie insults the Bible or bashes it. Does it add or change some biblical scenes, yes, but does this insult, I dont think so. Conservative Christians didnt seem to mind when Mel Gibson did that. Second, those who are attacking the movie who say they know there Bibles, clearly are reading their Bibles through a particular view. No kidding? We ALL read the bible from our view, there is. O other way to read it. And the biggest disservice we have done to the Noah story is turn it into a cute decorating theme for a nursery. The bible clearly shows it to be a brutal, blood chilling story of God, humanity, and ya, and ultimately Grace. I wonder, did Noah expect Gods grace as we find it in the Bible when Noah closed the door to all the people outside? I think the movie Noah nailed this inner conflict of Noahs poignantly and with great moral struggle.
