So I just heard of the passing of Fred Phelps. I think its terribly sad. I think of his family, who have been hurt and isolated by his actions, and I think that they knew him and loved him, because thats what we do...we love our families. They are hurting right now. I dont like the guy, dont agree with his actions AT ALL. But Im sad that a soul was possibly lost, and I am ever grateful for a God who remains sovereign and just. I wish his family peace. I wish his followers truth and light. And I wish all of us wisdom and grace and salvation. I see no good in attacking a man who was clearly mentally and spiritually troubled, especially when the ones left to answer questions and clean up the disaster are in pain and likely had no choice in the matter. So thats how I feel about that.
