So, I just re-read Jane Eyre for about the 10th time in my life. And yesterday I watched the Jane Eyre movies from 1996 and the 2011. The actress in the 1996 version was better but the 2011 version was truer to the book. Also, Michael Fassbender was a FAR superior Mr. Rochester. For some reason, this most recent reading has hooked me deep. I am having an entirely DIFFERENT response to Jane Eyre now than I did at ages 18, 21 and 25. Something has radically shifted inside me and I didnt really know it until this most recent reading. Can anyone recommend a good annotated/commentary version of Jane Eyre? Is the Norton critical edition good enough?
