So, I keep running into people going on and on about how fields are being drenched in Roundup by farmers. [...] There are 43,560 square feet in an acre. Youre supposed to use something around 15 gallons per acre of the Roundup/water mixture (10-20 gallons, really, so its a bit variable). There are 90,840 drops per gallon. So, for 15 gallons, thats 1,320,600 drops. Divide by 43,560 square feet and youre left with 31 drops per square foot. But thats of the Roundup/water mixture, of which there is 10 ml of Roundup per liter of water, meaning 1 part in 100. This is per the instructions on the back of Roundup bottles used in farming. One kind of them, at least. So you have to divide that 31 by 100.
