So, I know exactly where I was, precisely what I was doing, and can recall the names and faces of the two customers sitting with me at the garage on September 11th. I know the day was mild, the sky crystal clear and sapphire blue. I also recall the grip of icy fear which swept through me. The feelings of helplessness, total shock and raging anger. United States homeland struck so violently and seemingly randomly. Knowing the lone plane was circling right above our very heads, then having it crash relatively closely in Pennsylvania. Washington DC, the very hub and heart of our country. I was nearly paralyzed, I wanted my family, right by my side. I wanted them to stay close to me. I was afraid to leave home, and when we did venture to Mount Airy at the end of September, the event weighed so heavily on my mind, I could scarcely put it aside, and enjoy the festivities, of Mayberry Days. I suddenly understood, partially, the fears of citizens whom reside in war torn countries, and suffer daily, far worse atrocities, in their very own towns, cities and homes. Wars have rages, globally, since time began...... it is the curse of mankind apparently, and although the thought of peace seems blissful, it seems that it will never envelope the globe entirely, we are a violent people, these humans, and must fight to establish control, it justify and retaliate, to defend our customs, our religions, our beliefs, our race, our nations. I am a basically positive, upbeat, glass half full person, but also, I can see what is real, what has been real for thousands and thousands of years, from ancient times. People desire to control and choose the way for others, they seek vengeance and desire revenge. I am not talking right or wrong, I am speaking from my heart. Attacks are mortally scary, and we should all remember this time in history, and how we all felt. Nobody seems to have enjoyed the period, perhaps avoiding is best, give peace a chance. Dreaming...........
