So I learned Something from KIMO (Owner of r3) on Friday... as he regaled me with the story of how he met his RICH Neighbor ... Who owns the old bank... where we have st up for Art Walk for almost 2 years... then he had us threatened with arrest for ... for showing Art in front of that edifice... (On the side walk on Saterday) I would like to share it with you all here... how that story went ... and what i learned. He seemed to think I should be very Impressed that when his Neighbor bought the house Next door to him... he went out of his way to be Rude to her and show her DISRESPECT for "Many months" and that it had made them good friends... (?) (that is why he has keys to her building in town here... and has the right to call the police on Artists who want to show work on the side walk there... ) (even thought he has not noticed all these Months till now.) but what Really Impressed me... was this... That he seemed to think that Disrespect of a Rich person Showed Disinterest in them... and therefor made you less of a threat to them... or something... or made you more desirable as an Acquaintance or friend. (I am not sure... since i was horrified by the idea of it.) what I realized at that moment ... was that I have always Been HONEST and RESPECTFUL and Friendly to ALL People (EVEN THE RICH ONES)... until they show me Disrespect... and that this is a BIG part of My Cultural Dysphoria... and why I do not understand this CULTure... the Wealthy people seem (especially in this town) among the Older HAVES ... Do not see Respect and Friendliness as anything but Suspicious... (you must want what they have... Does that mean that is the way THEY ARE in the world... (that they are only Friendly when they WANT Something from you?) Am I doomed ... to always be treated badly because i am kind and friendly in a CULTure... that is suspicious of EVERYONE... who is kind or Friendly?) the Richer you are... the More so...? and the more entitled you feel to piss down on those less fortunate...? even if they do not want your wealth ... or your help... you HAVE to Piss on them? rather than Just leave them to Struggle to survive? I would Rather DIE! and i would Rather DIE than Spend ANOTHER DOLLAR at his bar.
