So I listened to One Direction for the first time recently, and you know what? Theyre actually not that bad. I think a lot of the hate towards them simply stems from this stigma that all boy bands with hordes of teenage girls making up the fanbase are automatically bad. I mean, I had that mindset back with *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, and yet now I can confidently say that I like some of their songs, while not actually ever having listened to most of their other songs. Hell, my favorite band of all time is The Beatles, and they were basically a boy band, at least when they started out. I mean, sure, they wrote all their songs and played instruments, which boy bands dont normally do, but they still had several other qualifications. Plus, 1D is also British, which is something I had no idea about. Basically, people shouldnt judge a band/solo artist on their image alone, or even their fanbase, but on their own merits as musicians. On that note, Justin Bieber is still terrible.
