So I listened to as much of the final 5 hours in WCCC history as I could today. CCC is a legendary radio station. It was the first gig for Howard Stern, and it broke great bands such as Shinedown, Staind, and Hatebreed onto the scene. The final day included phone calls from Stern, Brent Smith (shinedown vocalist), Mike from Staind, and a slew of former DJs like Slater, Stephen Wayne, Sebastian, Johnny Promo, and many more Its a very sad day for CT and the local rock/metal scene, but Karolyi, who broke into tears in the final minutes, ended the CCC tenure with Panteras Walk, a fitting finale. Thank god for satellite radio and Spotify, as we lost a true musical powerhouse today.
