So, I made the mistake of clicking on a link to read a news article..it was a fairly benign interest story...but all the headlines on the page were definitely more troubling...I know better, but I click on some of these stories any way and found myself down the rabbit hole, following one horrible news story after another...wars, sickness, environmental disasters...after just a short time I felt myself feeling hopelessness, fear...I stay away from the news for this exact reason...and the thing is, I dont even know how reliable those news stories are...I did a little research on one site and found that they just publish stories from whoever wants to submit one...maybe its a reliable report, or it may just be some crazy little dude and his own personal conspiracy theory...I was letting my mood, my mind and heart be affected by some person who may or may not be wearing a tin foil hat...so, in desperation to climb out of that sinking pit, I googled good news and tons of stories from all over popped up...a report on why we should NOT be freaking out about Ebola that made a lot of sense to me, stories about animals on the brink of extinction making a come back, governments cracking down on polluters...how, in many parts of the world we are seeing improvments in the environment...bad news still exists, and sometime, we need to be aware...but there is also a world of good news out there...we just have to look for it....and I definitely need to stay away from anything resembling a news site...its far to easy for me to get sucked in, and all fear mongering just sucks the life out of me...a little prayer, and a little perspective is a wonderful thing!!
