So I met this pleasant lady yesterday, we chatted alot. She asked what I do and I told her am employed and she told me she is self employed, a direction I have always hoped to go, she told me all the good things about being self employed, having time to do your stuff, how horrible it can get at times when in employment, she actually said, #Ihateworkingforotherpeople. I shared with her my fears of leaving employment without a proper plan since I also have dependants and am not sure about how going solo may turn out and how I have to take my time, and maybe start running something while still employed etc. She then began lecturing me about #dreams, how I should chase my dreams and not let anything hold me back, how she just quit her job from a big bank and began her business consultancy without thinking twice, and I felt quite challenged. Wait until we began talking about our families and when she mentioned her fathers name (#IwishIcouldtellyouwhoherfatheris), one of those guys who own Kenya (I Google when I got home just to confirm and yes, the guy even owns a mining firm, you should see family portraits hehehe) I just smiled but also learnt something. With a billionaire for a father and zero dependants, you can just quit a job and start a business with capital from daddy but with dependants looking up to you having literally fought your way out of poverty, you have to be very cautious when it comes to achieving our dreams by quiting jobs, and as much as we didnt choose where to be born, the kind of beds we slept in while growing up determine how fast we can achieve our dreams, but eventually, we all achieve our dreams much as it may take longer for some of us if we only remain focused, so Ill never give up on my dreams no matter how long it will take me to achieve the same.
