So I need some advice.....My friends 36 gallon bowfront tank was completely WIPED OUT from ich. She asked me to help her after she noticed something was wrong. It was definitely ich. We went to LFS and purchased API Super Ich . Removed activated carbon, did 25 percent water change, checked parameters (they were perfect), raised the temp. to 82 and threw in aquarium salt . Treated with the API as directed ,left the lights off, fish were eating, After treatment time was over, we did another 25 percent water change and vacuumed gravel really well to remove the parasite that was resting there. Again, we checked parameters and again, perfect. The fish GOT WORSE, completely covered and lethargic but eating. Went back to LFS and was given Copper Power Blue with instructions of running new carbon filter media to remove prior meds, remove filter media again and re-treat with the new meds. The fish ALL DIED, she lost the last one yesterday am. Now what do we do with the tank??? I HAVE NEVER HAD ICH IN ANY OF MY TANKS EVER so I am helpless here and clueless. She believes the ich came from a plant she put in her tank but she is not sure. Today I took the heater out, ALL decorations and took them outside, rinsed REALLY WELL with hose and have them drying out in the sun. The plants we removed and threw away the day I went to help her. So now what do \we do??? The filters are running with no media. Should we do water change with gravel sweep to suck those little F-ERS out??? Leave it be and let the Copper Power do its job??? Pull everything out and have her start over??? whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? thanks in advance peeps :)
