So I see that there was a lot of confusion on last weeks question so I will do my best to clear that up. The last culinary trivia question was what type of dough does challah use? The answer that I was looking for would have been rich dough and here is why. Challah is a yeast bread and yeast breads can be divided into two major categories :lean doughs and rich doughs. Lean doughs, such as those used for crusty French and Italian breads, that contain little or no sugar or fat. And rich doughs, such as brioche and challah, that contain significantly more sugar and fat than lean doughs.
