So I slipped down my last 3 steps Tuesday night after checking on - TopicsExpress

So I slipped down my last 3 steps Tuesday night after checking on the kids. It was just how a few little things come together to cause the perfect storm. Dark. Hand rail ends at window and last three steps turn left and are off triangle shape. Cat jumps up as the sound of me scares him. And I catch my right foot on the bottom of my long maxi dress. I went airborne. Landed on my left side tailbone and back rib cage so hard the wind was knocked out of me for a good few min. I knew I should probably go to the hospital at that moment; but all were asleep. I iced it. Next day. Lots of pain under my front left ribcage. And of course where I hit my back. Ended up at urgent care and the dr pressed under my front rib cage and I saw stars!! He looked at me. Said, Im so sorry. U look like that really hurt you? uh huh! I looked at him...this isnt good huh? Spleen? He said he thought so. Hospital? Yes. So here I was the night before my kids first day of school calling my husband to leave Patricks first soccer scrimmage and drop me at the ER. I immediately was scared. Thought the worst. Wondered if they would find something else wrong like they did 2 1/2 years ago. Not a good place. So I prayed. I prayed on the way. I prayed in the waiting room. I prayed during my chest X-ray. After. During my ct scan. I just talked to Gid, Jesus, all my angels up in heaven. Please dont find anything else wrong. And please whatever is wrong; allow them to heal me quickly. And btw...as an extra bonus if I could not be admitted and get home tonight so I dont have to miss their first day as a first grader and 3rd grader..that would be a miracle. Meanwhile I can hardly get up out of the bed. Move correctly for x rays. It was very painful. But MIRACLES do happen. No fractures, no internal injuries. Bruised ribs and extremely inflammed and swollen intercostal muscles (these are the muscles I guess our lungs use to breathe) I can go HOME!!! So I slowly left with pain med scripts and patches in hand and took the 8 min. Cab ride home. I cant drive, cant get up and move around very well. But I am so blessed to be with my boys yesterday and today as they begin a new school for Patrick and a full day in 1st for Dylan. MIRACLES do happen. Please pray for my friends fighting Cancer right now. Especially my Uncle Mike and my friend Heather. MIRACLES happen every day. One dr thought it was my spleen. The other was sure I broke some ribs. You never know. Never give up.
