So I spoke with someone yesterday about my feedback on my latest transfer application. It took them an hour to tell me, in the most positive way they could, that the vocabulary that I have been taught to use to resolve issues for the last 10 years is now obsolete. The phrase, you are too negative is now the PC way of saying, we in management have received new training on a company approved vocabulary and we expect you to use this vocabulary as well even though we have yet to train you to speak it. Oh, and we wont take the time to train you to speak it unless we hire you for one of these new positions where you need to know how to speak the language to get the job. Good luck with that. So essentially if I had not pointed out how monumentally unfair this was to my boss I would have spun my wheels in this hideous job until I had gotten sick of life and either quit or gotten fired. Ive wrangled a promise out of her that she will train me, in writing, on how to now speak the newproper language. Yah....I need to re-train for a completely different type of work and get the hell out of dodge. How do you say no to something while only saying positive words and phrases without either outright lying or at best sounding like an empty headed cheer leading pratt? I understand they want to improve their image but Im not so sure this is going to effect the change they think it will.
