So I started to read the noble Quran last night for some - TopicsExpress

So I started to read the noble Quran last night for some enlightenment and to develop an opinion on the so called religion of peace. It was only when I got to verse 50+ of the second Chapter Al-Baqarah that I couldnt read any further. I found it horrendously forceful, aggressive with its relentless diatribe, which I found extremely critical of other peoples beliefs and other religions, yet strangely like it was coming from the mouth or hand of a ranting human being describing an imaginary yet extremely narcissistic god who seems to, without description lay claim to almost everything there is to lay claim to while bashing all those who do not believe what they are being told by this third party who describes him. Insistently repeating how all none believers shall perish in hell fire before youd even finished the first 5% of the book. Its absolutely remarkable that people can find such blind faith in something they are basically being told by an outside source who obviously isnt god himself. Everything is in third person. Like all religions I suppose, however this to me has only cemented in my mind that all religions should be banned throughout the planet. There is no way this religion can be considered peaceful and that it doesnt teach hatred, Im not singling out Islam either but if you take the time to read this book its as hateful as the old testament and I dont have any time for that. The fact that we have to co-exist with people who can take so much passion, direction and unconditional devotion and belief in something that clearly doesnt exist, something that is CLEARLY outdated explanations for unresolved scientific discoveries of the naked eye thousands of years ago... All this with the technology around us to eradicate humanity in thee touch of a single button. These are very dangerous times indeed and unless religion is halted with immediate effect Im afraid we arent going to live long enough to evolve any more than we have done already. Disgusted in all honesty, not just in Islam but in all religion, all people who are religious, all people who choose to hate based on difference in beliefs. Hypocritical? Maybe I am... But after reading just a fraction of the noble holy book of the quran, Im well within my rights to choose not to affiliate with anybody who is ignorant enough to believe that utter, absolute and ultimate tripe.
