So I tell my lead server at The Smokehouse last week that I want to move to nights Mon-Fri so I can work my internet company during the day, but Im open anytime Sat and Sun. She tells me thats perfect cause they need a strong server on nights anyway. Well, I go in yesterday to work, and 3 other servers tell me that she is talking about letting me go since I cant be available from 9am to 9pm 7 days a week. First of all, how unprofessional is that to talk about MY business with my coworkers? Secondly, why tell me its ok and then turn around and decide its NOT ok? Third, dont these people realize that I have a life outside of The Smokehouse Restaurant and will NOT be at the beck and call 24/7???
