So I walk the same street to work every morning, and theres often a boy there passing out flyers for Verizon. He just stands there holding his hand out looking pretty defeated. Almost no one takes the flyers. Its probably one of the hardest jobs to have in this city. Most people dont even acknowledge him. Well, this morning, I was just walking like I usually do, and I noticed the boys expression change to a combination of shock and gratification as a man in front of me took a flyer. As I got closer to him, I noticed he only had one flyer left, and he was still looking around and smiling in disbelief at what had just happened. I asked myself, Did this guy just take all of his flyers? The guy in front of me is nonchalantly looking down and studying what he just took from the boy. As we both stop at a red light, I look over and see that he is holding an entire stack of flyers. He looks over at me and smiles a I just did a good deed smile. I smile back, laugh a little bit, and we both go on our way. If that boy gets points for how many flyers he passes out, he just made that kids day. If not, at least he made him smile. I think these little acts of rebellion and kindness have more of an impact on changing the world than we realize. It restored my faith in humanity a little more this morning, and that kid is probably still smiling. #theworldischanging
