So … I was listening to Sirius Radio this morning and came across an interview with Randy Pausch. According to Wikipedia: “Pausch learned he had pancreatic cancer in September 2006, and in August 2007 he was given a terminal diagnosis: ‘3 to 6 months of good health left’. He gave an upbeat lecture titled ‘The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams’ on September 8, 2007, at Carnegie Mellon, which became a popular YouTube video and led to other media appearances. He then co-authored a book called The Last Lecture on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller. Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008”. He had a wife and 3 young children. Now I only heard a small portion of his speech … but very profound (at least for myself). I find myself getting caught up in the daily minutia and not what’s most important … to “stop and smell the roses” and appreciate my loved ones. Take a second and watch his YouTube video or read his book (if you haven’t already). I haven’t myself, but it’s on my bucket list. Find your passion and follow it. You won’t find that passion in things or money. Your passion must come from what fuels you from the inside. It will be grounded in the relationships you have with people and what they think of you when your time comes. ~ Randy Pausch
