So I was walking down an unfamiliar street today, on my way to someones office when suddenly two bearded men started to walk towards me. They greeted me cheerfully, as if they had known me from a long time, with a handshake and a complete Salam. I looked towards one of them, baffled at meeting the men on a dark street corner, and just as I was about to ask if I knew him, he blurted out now youll say something like: Im sorry do I know you or have we met somewhere?. Still confused, I nodded and said Well yes! I cant remember if Ive met you before? He gently shook my hand again and told me Were Muslims, were all brothers. Embarrassed at how I had forgotten something so trivial yet so important, I managed a weak, yet warm smile and murmured Jazakallah Khair to him as he walked away. Spread Salam or peace, wherever you go. While greetings like hey, hi or sup are totally fine when it comes to getting someones attention, the Islamic greeting of peace, carries the most beautiful meaning and a special connotation. One that instantly turns someone who was a stranger to you seconds ago, into someone you love and wouldnt harm in any way. #LifeLessons So yeah, As salamu alaikum family. :)
