So I watched Ceasar Millans Love your Pit bull episode last night. - TopicsExpress

So I watched Ceasar Millans Love your Pit bull episode last night. And I have to say, I agreed with a lot of what he said surprisingly. The problem with Pit bulls is for the most part, HUMAN failure & fault. They are over bred...many of them are trained to be fight....which doesnt take much since they are a fighting breed. Also being the reason they are the #1 dog used for dog fighting. What I wish more people would understand though, is according to him.... they are hyper dogs. They need lots of exercise & room to run...they can NOT be over exerted. Meaning, if you get them too excited...over stimulated...even just playing with them.... they do NOT understand the difference in playing vs attacking. Excitement is excitement. So rough housing with them, can go from fun to attacking in a split second. Basically, in order for these dogs to make good pets... they need a TON of training & people understanding the breed to the fullest in order to own one with out them attacking?? Thats what I got out of it. I have no doubt in my mind, that someone like Ceasar could own a Pit & itll never attack a human. He is a dog whisper after all. But any normal everyday person & family....unless they are willing to go to the extremes he goes to in training them.... they probably shouldnt even bother trying to raise a Pit. He made it pretty clear, they are very different them most breeds. And he agreed that theres needs to be some legislation on these dogs due to there being so many attacks & deaths by them. But one thing he didnt address, that I REALLY wanted him to, was why are there so many family owned, loved & raised Pit bulls turning on their families & attacking them unprovoked???? I wanted to see some compassion from him for these people. Not just focus on what supposed great dogs they are... and not the people that have suffered because of them. So over all... I got... you wanna Pit, you better be willing to do the hard work it takes to make them a good dog. And Im sorry... but my Brittanys... my Lhasa....my Greyhounds.... theyve never taken special training in order to keep them happy & not attacking people. So Why the heck would I want something that does!
