So, I whined today about how bold Rocky Raccoon is becoming. I have tried Repel All and it only kept Sonny and Ellbie away :/ The cat fight video sound worked one night. He tried to grab my bag I carry the food and water in last night. I tried waiting him out, so he climbed a tree to get a better view. Ive tossed pine cones at him, which results in him picking the plate or paper towel up that has the food and of course that scatters everywhere. I read that mint smells deter rodents or eucalyptus plants will also deter them. I know that eucalyptus is toxic to dogs and cats so that is out. I can happily say Sonny, Ellbie and Lila (the next door neighbors cat) all were able to eat in peace tonight. Has anyone ever tried mint scents to deter a raccoon? Hes persistent and his boldness is making me nervous. I dont want him trapped, as that is a death sentence for him. I kind of missed sering him tonight, but I would prefer he stay in the trees until midnight or later.
