So I would be remiss if I didnt update on my previous post about what I formally thought was a super-exciting moment for barefoot employees everywhere. I received a shiny new letter from HR that I must not be barefoot anywhere except my desk at any time. I followed this up with an email and phone call, and the explanation goes something like this: if any harm were ever to come to my feet, the company would be required to pay workers comp whether or not I wanted them to/they wanted to; this is a statute for employers, meaning I cant waive it, meaning I would face sharp penalties from the company having now been advised as to this policy. My letter requires footwear with soles...am open to creative suggestions. :P
