So Id like to make a post for my haters. I have some very decent advice for them because the number has just gone up in the last few months and I get some new drama brought to me every week. This drama is either over beef that happened a year ago or some random, pointless subject that holds no true value. Id like to tell you all why I have so many haters and give you guys some insight on how I feel about it and why I dont hate them back...this is why I am hated by a lot of DJs.... Because I promote hard. Because I hustle. Because in my opinion a DJ is not only judged by how well he/she DJs but how well their pull is and their online marketing. If people dont want to come to a show because your name is on the flier, you got to work and get them to come out. You got to inspire them to get there and win them over live or hell even with a free drink ticket added to that, they are your guests, treat them like that when they see you, ESPECIALLY IF THEY BROUGHT A LOT OF FRIENDS. I feel like the people who hate on me the most are DJs who are frustrated with their own crowd pull who and Ill even admit often times good DJs and think I dont deserve to play the shows I do at the slots I do. What those people also fail to understand is that no one likes negativity. Even if youre a good DJ, people dont like supporting douchebags. Sorry to tell you guys but just because youre slick on the 1s and 2s and can produce a track doesnt mean you belong on stage. Yeah thats right, I said it, your talent doesnt mean you belong on stage, hate me even more you ignorant purists (but do continue reading this post because I have advice coming up for you). A stage is for performers that people want to see. Whether thats because people like their personality, the person is donating money to charity, are extremely good looking, or they really like the way they spin, or even a combination of any of those, its just the way it goes. There are many talented people who wont ever make a big stage because they dont have a draw and promoters cant waste money on them. Yes there are people who get picked up who have incredibly amazing talent (only producers nowadays though) where they get put on big stages to build their names, but that also requires a certain amount of networking and a TON of luck. Dont hate the player, hate the game. If you want to be judged purely on your talents go into fields like science and math where social aspects dont play any part. Youll be a lot happier and things will be more fair. If you are in an industry where social behavior has a significant impact along with your skills and this is frustrating you, definitely rethink what you are doing. There are plenty of other fields that wont have these problems. I do not hate my haters, I actually am somewhat fascinated by their ignorance. But I still understand it given that as we grow frustrated all of us become more ignorant and lose our own reason and common sense.
