So Im a little late with this one ... but it is an oldie, but a goody. Most of you will probably chuckle a bit at this, but one of my most vivid memories growing-up was getting the trash ready with my Dad to go out Monday morning on Sunday night. This involved me scurrying around the upstairs, checking all the waste baskets while my Dad got the kitchen and downstairs rooms. We would meet in the family room and dump it all into a big, brown City of Pasadena (Texas) garbage bag. And the whole time the Ronnie Renfrow (Sp?) Show would be playing in the background on the radio. The show was all big band and I learned to love the likes of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey and so many others (especially Tommy Dorsey, since he played the trombone like I did). But one of the sure signs Christmas was here was this song would come over the air. The Christmas Song is one of the most popular pieces of Christmas music and has been recorded multiple times ... but Nat King Cole is still the best ... all of his versions.
