So Im going to go off on a little rant here, which I generally refrain from doing. Why must the media (some-not all), contribute to an already volatile situation? Why cant they just cover the story and put the details in writing? Why must they take a MAJOR thorn in the side of so many and make it their headline-in big bold font?? The way I see it, no good can come from doing that. It only adds fuel to the fire, which may even lead to more violence of folks not even involved in the situation at hand. Why do police officer shootings almost always come down to race? There are people out there who dont see color, you know. Not everyone is ignorant. The coverage of this story should be the shooting of a reportedly unarmed teen (not a black teen or a white teen or an asian teen-just a teen) by a police officer. Why was excessive force used on this teen? Why not pepper spray or a taser? Instead, the media shifts the focus to an OFFICER IN MISSOURI SHOOTING IS WHITE headline. Ironic, isnt it? Those with the power to have their voices heard are often quick to criticize society, when in-fact they are often times one of the largest negative influences on it. Smh.
