So. Im in my class and I was passing things out and I came to Julie and for no reason, the part of my brain that evidently still has access to all the early stuff says, Jooleh Jooleh Jooleh and she looked at me kinda funny and I said, Oh that was an old song. Then leaving tonight that part of my brain woke up again and I heard the chorus of the song more clearly in my head. On my way home I thought and thought of who could have sung the song. I knew it was old because I can remember singing and dancing to the song when I lived in Corte Madera, which puts me around 7 at the time. 40 YEARS AGO! Im thinking of the few records that I had and couldnt commit so I googled the lyrics that I knew. Julie, Julie, Julie, yeah yeah yeah, aint it the truth aint it the truth. Of course Google knew right away! None other than the Osmonds! (Dont judge me, I was 7) Of course I had to hear the song so I tapped the YouTube video that came up in the search and hit play. The sound was slightly different from what I remember coming from my faux wood speakers sitting atop my cinder block bookshelf (the cool cinder blocks with the stars -- nothing but the classy stuff from mom and John Davids ;-), but I still knew every word!! I even knew when to do the improve yeeeeaaaahhhh screams! The way it just flowed out of my mouth as I just sang my heart out (twice) was amazing for being a tucked away 40 year old memory! So, in addition to sharing this funny little experience with you, which still has me grinning like the Cheshire cat, I thought I would also share the tune with you because...well I like to celebrate my dorkiness publicly I guess!
