So Ive been asked to keep documentation of my boxing journey from here on out. Videos. Pictures. Whatever. I decided to make journal entries as well. I wanted to share with you all a bit of my first entry. I have some down time (which I dont do well with) so this is a tad long. If you choose not to want to read just keep scrolling. July 29th 2014 So I boarded a plane today and flew halfway across the country to compete in a sport I have trained and worked hard in. I have encountered numerous heartbreaks along my path to get here, but I am here. I met up with a man that Ive only known, really for a few short weeks. And while to some that may seem a bit crazy, to those who know him know its right where I belong. This man I call Coach. I am quiet in his presence and listen intently to every word he says. He has no idea that in this moment I have given him the lead. This week I will lean on him more than I probably ever have anyone. I must trust this man with my life, and for some strange reason. ..I do! As we enter the giant building where my true journey begins he holds the door for me. Just a small taste of who he is. In line we patiently (or anxiously in my case) wait. All the while he is subliminally calming my nerves. The line dies down and we take care of business. As we leave he says you know you got this right? And I pause. Smile. And agree!
