So, Ive been at work quite a lot lately! Weve reopened the refurbished 1939 part of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and get to watch work continue to provide us with a new extension. Weve put on some great shows and facilitated all sorts of events in the past two weeks ranging from rehearsals, RLPO concerts, recordings and even a prize-giving. Tomorrow is the start of another busy week, so heres a quick run down of thanks from me: To Steffi, Dave and Ian for their hard work and constant exhortations for me to go home (borne of concern for my welfare or their sanity I wonder?). To Ruth, Ryan and others for some outstanding sorting out of FOH and keeping people sane! To James and Jasmine for hitting the ground running in their new roles and making life easier by understanding our Philharmonic way so well. To Ste & Phil for being, well, Ste and Phil. To Benjamin and our other reception/stage door/production village-ists! To our contractors and sub-contractors for bearing up so well under the weight of my silly questions (a big hat tip to Roger and George for a superb PA install and Adrian and co. for a seamless organ console reinstall. Sorry to Paul for not quite providing all the promised cups of tea!). To Beth for picking up all the other jobs people kept leaving behind! To Amy and Alice for much LPYO good humour. To Dean for an ongoing carpet loan! To Judith and Alice who havent seen Dave in weeks! To Dave for buying pizza and doing the odd bit of work! To Emma for not killing me! To anyone who has sent good luck messages; and to Hannah, Heather, and Alan for facilitating a non-work day today!
