So Ive been kinda moping around lately... Going through some stuff...ya know, feelin a little blue. ***sigh...I went to Walgreens just now, and as I pulled into the parking lot and parked I saw a homeless man sitting out in front of the store. He looked like your run of the mill homeless man...Long scraggly beard, army coat, with a torn beanie cap on...dirt smudges on his face. I just sat in my car and watched him for a bit... Really wondering what his story was. Does he have any family? Did he have a mother who loved him like I love my own son? What happened that got him in the position hes in today? He wasnt asking anyone for money. He seemed sober. There was a humbleness about him. The store was busy, and many passed him, offering him nothing. After 5 minutes of sitting there my eyes welled up with tears, and I dont know why. I got out of my car, walked up to him and put my hand out to shake his. I said, My name is Melissa. He smiled, shook my hand back and said Im Brad, nice to meet you. I gave him a firm handshake and said Likewise, Brad. I handed him $7 bucks...He smiled, said thank you so much, Melissa... Have a Happy Easter. I dont know what just happened, but my feeling sorry for myself-mood seems to have dissipated. God Bless Brad.
