So, Ive been nominated by Nandini Sharma and Ahana Chatterjee to list the ten books that have stayed behind with me. Thanks, you guys! 1. The Famous Five series: Now that I think of it, Enid Blyton, Julian, Dick, Anne, George and of course Timmy meant most of my childhood years. 2. The witches: Defined the word imagination for me. Roald Dahl Sir, no matter how old I grow, you shall always be my favorite author. 3. Dear John (Nicholas Sparks): I knew that I could cry with a book. I knew that I had found my favorite author for my teenage heart. I knew that if I ever wrote, it would be on love. 4. The Namesake (Jhumpa Lahiri): The pangs of the homesick heart, the familiar feeling of being an alien in a foreign land and the exquisite detailed writing style. If I ever wanted to grow up to be someone, it had to be Lahiri. 5. Eleven Minutes (Paulo Coelho): A delicate subject, brilliant portrayal and an engaging read. 6. Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair (Pablo Neruda): A constant by my bed side. A reminder of the romance I once had. 7. Love in the time of cholera (Gabriel Garcia Marquez): Because we lost the man this year. Because no words come to mind. 8. Looking for Alaska (John Green): A sense of humour from a fellow author that I could relate to and laugh with. 9. A Prisoner of Birth (Jeffery Archer): No matter the years, the story has stayed with me. 10. God of Small Things (Arundhati Roy): If you havent read it yet, do it right away! Because it is one of those books. And, I nominate Arnab Mondal, Aamen Talukdar, Sion Choudhury and Neha Sen to list their top ten!
