Being with someone for the right reasons is essential in any relationship. I do not trust the Lovey-dovey, butterfly feelings because “A Feeling can be Fooling.” I know that marriages go through many storms and face many trials, and after those emotions settled I wanted SUBSTANCE! When my husband and I were dating I looked at his character traits, his love for God, his morals, how he treated his daughter, his family, how he managed his anger, how well he reacted to my anger, how well we connected and agreed on important issues, how well we handled when we disagreed on important issues. I’ve seen so many marry for the wrong reasons like status, money, or the strong desire to say “I’m married”. Yes I wanted to be married but more than that I wanted a “quality marriage.” No one can predict the future, but I at least wanted to attempt to start out right. I fell in love with my husband the more I saw him, his true self, although not perfect his heart was genuine and to me that was the right recipe for a quality marriage. I try to tell him all the time how much I appreciate him, his daily grind and provision for our family and how loving and helpful he is to the daily running of our home. As we take one day at a time, I can only pray that we continue to allow God in and help us on this journey….. Yassssss I have a true KING!! #ConfessionsOfANewlywed
