So Ive decided that since my faith in humanity has been so distorted by social media outlets like Facebook, next week I will completely shift my approach. Sad that when provided with such a readily available forum, people cannot help but to spout their ignorance and intolerance. Im not feeding into it anymore. However, this week will be my opportunity to share my thoughts in a VERY direct manner. Im sure many will not even read what I say, others will skim, while some might decide to like or comment. Im not pretentious or important enough to think that many of you could give a sh&*. But Ive decided thats OK. Realizing now more than ever that less is more. I will be purging Facebook friends next week with the emphasis placed on interests and values shared. And that doesnt mean that we have to agree on everything. But I will seek those with an open mind that choose to actually see common ground when there is some rather than attack or dismiss everything I might post based solely on my perceived political or social position. Others I let go will simply be based on a general lack of sharing. Not that I dont care, but why pretend. So what I will be putting out there, starting today, will be about rattling cages and sparking debate. I am certain that many arguments will devolve into finger pointing and deflection rather than actually answering a question or addressing the topic. And I WILL call you out when you do. Somebody is going to get pissed at me...and thats fine. But get in your shots now while you can. Because after this week, I wont go there with you or we will no longer be linked by Facebook. Sports and positive thoughts are all you will see.
