So Ive got this family, see? Its got this amazing mother and the coolest stepfather in it. And today happens to be my mothers birthday, and Wednesday happened to be my stepdads birthday. Now, let me tell you about my stepdad. This guy is truly Superman. He can fix anything, make anything work, make everything better. He has spoiled me and my mom since day one (wont ever forget Teddy Percisious) and has given me the most perfect little sister anyone could ever ask for. Even when I wrap my car around trees, or Im sitting on the side of the road in another car that wont go but 7mph (are you sensing a trend here?), he always drops what hes doing to come and rescue me. He works so hard so my mom doesnt have to, and still manages to treat us to trips to Lake Anna to fish, delicious meals at Chick-Fil-A (hey dont judge, its his favorite place), and even ultimately pays for our tickets to go to Hershey Park, even if he cant go because of work. Now thats love. Not many people can say that they adore their stepdad this much, Im sure. Im one of the lucky ones. And my gorgeous mother. My gorgeous, selfless, caring, stubborn (had to), helpful, hilarious, best friend mother. This woman puts up with all of my complaining about literally everything. How my body always never seems to like me, how I never want to go to the doctor, how much my meds cost once I do go to the doctor, how to cook things, how to deal with stupid people, what to buy, what not to buy, basically just how to ultimately survive as a human being on this earth today. Yeah, thank her that Im still alive. Being a mom is tough stuff, and while she doesnt get a paycheck, I have no doubt in my mind that being a mom is the most trying and exhausting job anyone could ever endure. 50 years on this earth, but my mom doesnt look (or act) a day over 35. Dont believe me? Maybe someday youll happen to pass her as shes driving and blasting AC/DC, with her subs thumpin and singing her lungs out. Yep, the apple doesnt fall too far from the tree. This woman is my rock, my everything. I can proudly say that my mom was ALWAYS right with everything shes ever told me, taught me, lectured me over. And I cant let it slip under the radar that she raised the coolest, most level-headed teenager Ive ever met. Thanks for giving me a sister I can love and be so incredibly proud of. Thats all you. So, with that all being said, lets share big happy birthday wishes and celebrations to both of these wonderful, amazing people in my life. Im sorry Ive been so busy lately to spend as much time as I would have liked to, but I hope you both know that I love you incredible amounts, and appreciate every big and little thing youve ever done for me throughout this crazy life.
