So Ive posted a few times in this group over the past few days about my boy, Mushka, whos currently battling a nasty case of pneumonia. He was given a steroid injection and put on baytril and doxy on Monday, and it did nothing. Today we returned when his health was clearly going down hill quickly. He hadnt eaten or drank anything in a few days, was breathing very heavy and just wanted to sleep. It was incredibly heart breaking. We returned to the vets today and he had Zithromax thrown into his mix of meds, and we were also prescribed Symbicort, which is an inhaler for asthmatics. It was INSANELY expensive (close to $300...) but I just have to say the results are AWESOME. I made a chamber for him out of a two liter soda bottle cut in half, gave the inhaler two puffs while Mushka was inside, and put the cap back on with him in for 3 - 5 minutes. I took a video of him a few minutes after I let him out. He hasnt acted like this in days! Theres no doubt it was the treatment that did this. Before I took this video, before I put him in the chamber, he was curled up on my sweater, breathing heavy and was all groggy. There IS a little bit of language in the video, though nothing to bad, just to give those who are offended by that sort of thing a heads up!
