So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.” (John 5:19-20 ESV) Jesus did what his father showed Him. Each step was in sync with God’s plan. We can create all kinds of plans on our own, but apart from God’s plan or purpose for our community they will fail. As brilliant as we think we might be sometimes, we are no match for the brilliance of God. Today we realize that God does not depend on us, but we depend on God to reach our community. God is already at work around us. We need to ask Him about what he is doing and join him. Today ask God to show you his plans for you to reach our community. Give praise to God that he calls us to take part in his plans. Ask God for eyes to see where He is working so you can join him. Pray specifically for God to move in the community around you.
