So, Landon sees some girl swimming using this mermaid fun fin and thought it was the greatest thing in the world! He came home and googled it and found one on sale on ebay for $42 bucks (how the heck did he learn about ebay??) I get home from work and he shows me the print out and asks if he can buy it with his own money he has saved up. I tried to convince him these are for girls cause mermaids are female. He smiled and said, no dad, I saw 3 guys using them too, all during his Internet research. He wasnt giving up. Boys can ware these too! I have been trying to bribe my boys for 2 years or longer to read a Louis LAmour book to see if they will take after their dad, grandpa, and great grandpa and fall in love with these westerns. They always say no and run away. Ive started using the whole only if you read a Louis LAmour as a means of winning these kinds of negotiations and Ive always won cause they wont touch a Louis LAmour book. So tonight, I tried again, mostly thinking he would say no again and leave me alone about those darn fins. I told him instead of paying full price with his savings, I would pitch in and pay half if he read one Louis LAmour book. He thought about it, then tried his negotiation. Dad he said, Ill read one book if you pay the full price. I grinned thinking I would win the battle over the girlie mermaid stupid fin and said, nope, Ill pay half only! Without skipping a beat, he than said then Ill read two books if you pay full price! What the heck do I do now? I dont want him to be a girlie mermaid at the local community pool, but 2 Louis LAmour books? Talk about a dilemma. .. What should I do?
