So Lions are taller than tigers, who are heavier. Smilodon - TopicsExpress

So Lions are taller than tigers, who are heavier. Smilodon (fatalis and gracilis, at least) is heavier than both, but shorter than lions. Homotherium is always proclaimed as being a lion-sized predator, But does that mean that smilodon would thereby be shorter? Also, are there varying sizes in Homotherium species? (In the similar tradition of ancestral Machairodus and distant cousin Smilodon) If I hadnt seen so many varied size scales (namely of Smilodon) or maybe had been able to find Paleo-Art featuring interaction between the two, I likely wouldnt have asked.
