So, Pacific RIm was alot of fun. I thought that this is what these types of films are suppose to be. You do not go to these expecting some deep, dramatic character driven story like SUPERMAN was built to be but failed so drastically that the film sucked. Pacific Rim was about big ass monsters coming to our planet to destroy it and we had to build big ass robot type things to fight them. We got just enough back story to know whats up, then it was all heck breaks loose. Some minor B story stuff just to give the main dudes some conflict and depth but really, you dont care. The special effects were awesome. My only complaint, everything happens in the dark, cloudy rain. Some stuff is hard to make out. But, if you know Del Toro, that is his style.. Hell Boy 1-2 and Pans Lab.. etc. Woud have been nice to have at least one fight in the bright sunlight. Overall, the films is a solid action, scifi flick that is DEFINITELY WORTH SEEING IN THE THEATER... So GO.
