So Saturday I was part of Aspire Charity s first Loch Ness swim. Our team of 6 met up at 4.45 am. 4 team members swam in wetsuits, Myself and Georgie swam without wetsuits. The water wasnt as cold as predicted due to the recent warmer weather. We took turns swimming an hour each until the 22.5 mile distance was covered. The water was calm for most of the swim but there were some rough patches and for my second swim it was very choppy. No sign of Nessie but the water was black below us so he could have been there beneath us! We finished in a time of 12 hours 49 minutes and 12 seconds and were supported by Katy Boyd and Emma Merriott and the crew of the Condorito were fantastic. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Why did we do this? Because we are mad and like a challenge but also to raise awareness and much needed funds for Aspire. Thank you to everyone who has already supported my fundraising in any way, but if anyone would still like to donate please go to justgiving/KayHughesLochNessSwim
