So Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, is being ripped-shredded-excoriated on Facebook. Does anyone think for a moment, he would give a damn if he knew? Or knows? Would he give a damn if many news orgs likewise took him to task for his unconscionable and revolting statement that those who rallied to Cliven Bundy, are ‘domestic terrorists’? When Reid offered more than a verbal middle finger to those assembled on behalf of Mr. Bundy, did he think, if he can indeed think, they came from other corners of this Country and none were fellow Nevadans? And if he knew that some likely did, does anyone think he would give a damn? Any man who spends as much time as Reid did accusing another man of failing to pay taxes, and does so from The Floor of The United States Senate and never offers proof of such assertions, is not a man who gives a damn. Does anyone think that Senator Reid, one week post the 2012 Election, said his comments on Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney were not personal, gives a damn if others don’t believe that hogwash? Any man, again on The Floor, who rails against Tea Party Members, calling them hate mongers, is not a man who gives a damn. Does anyone think a man who pulls out his checkbook when the matter of Campaign Election Laws were possibly violated by him, proceeds to scribble out a check, thus intimating that that ends any untoward violations, gives a damn? Does anyone think a man who states that what the Koch Brothers want, Republicans jump to provide and offers no proof of such an assertion, gives a damn? Does anyone think that man who can claim Social Security is in good shape, gives a damn when most know Social Security is a coming train wreck? Who can believe a man who has resisted sensible changes to Obamacare, a program rejected by a majority, gives a damn? That Senator Reid has repeatedly on The Floor of The United States Senate, made harsh, never proven statements about others, about entities, seemingly about anyone or anything that does not see the world as he does, and by doing so, besmirches The Senate, is not a man who gives a damn. Senator Reid is certainly entitled to express himself, no matter to what degree he often lowers himself into the gutter to do so. What he should not be allowed to do is use The Senate for his increasingly strident, shrill, revolting name calling. And if he should continue such usage, should it not be demanded of him to buttress his claims with proofs? On that, the rest of The Senate should at least give a damn. So if Senator Reid now hears, or has been informed, of the intense and correct pushback to his despicable smear of some of We The People, he should at least know many of us give a damn. Seek help Senator Reid. Seek help. Because by damn, you are in great need of it.
