So Tristan and I had to clean Nemos fish tank today because someone was putting way too much fish food in the tank. When I go to scoop out Nemo I find Nemo passed away:-) I then have a decision to make do I distract Tristan and get another goldfish or explain what happened. I decided to share that Nemo died and that he is in heaven now. I showed him Nemo and said that we would bury him and remember the great things about him. He starts to cry. Never thought that I would breakdown how I did seeing my son trying to comprehend that life is short. I kept it together as best as I could and gave him a hug but inside Im torn apart. Then asked if he wanted to play Minecraft and off he went to imaginary build his ice house and he tells me he set a trap for me. Have you been faced with this situation? Did you explain life and death or did you extend the life of a pet?
